Scoring
To calculate the score of the word you play,
the scores of each new word created on the grid are added up.
The score of a word is the sum of the numbers on the tiles that make it up.
See a preview of what your score will be at the bottom of the screen.
SCORE 14
Some squares have letter or word multipliers which boost your score.
Quantiles
Once you have submitted your answer for today, your quantile will be revealed.
This percentage represents how close to the perfect solution you were.
It is calculated as the percentage of all possible solutions whose scores are less than,
or equal to, your solution's score.
However, as you get closer to 100%, an extra penalty makes it harder: you can't score 100% unless you
find the best solution, you can't score 99% unless you find the second best, and so on—even if your
answer beats almost every other solution.
Stats
Once submitted, you'll see your quantile for today on a graph with 0%
on the left-hand side and 100% on the right-hand side. Your quantiles from
previous days are remembered: the more you score a given percentage over time,
the taller that line will be.
